About This Place

Welcome to Mikey's Family Restaurant, a delightful gem nestled in West Union, Ohio. Located at 803 NE Main St, this American restaurant distinguishes itself as a welcoming haven for families, travelers, and food enthusiasts alike. With a reputation as the best "greasy spoon," Mikey’s combines charm with hearty dishes that appeal to everyone's taste buds.

Walking into Mikey's, you are greeted not just by the aromas of freshly cooked meals but also by the warm smiles of the staff, making it feel like home. Whether you’re starting your day with a flavorful omelet and pancakes or indulging in their renowned fried pickles, there's something comforting and nostalgic about the offerings here. One customer, Heaven Standish, beautifully captured this sentiment: "The food spoke to my soul," evoking memories of cherished home cooking.

The menu is a treasure trove of classic American fare. Patrons rave about the homemade fries, savory cornbread, and a variety of satisfying salads and sandwiches. The prices are remarkably affordable; you can enjoy a fulfilling meal without breaking the bank — just like Heaven’s experience of 4 meals and multiple sides for only $50!

For those seeking variety, Mikey's has a platter of options ranging from bacon cheeseburgers to grilled chicken caesar salads. The sides, including sautéed mushrooms and vegetable selections, cater well to different dietary preferences. Susan Aldridge pointed out that Mikey's also accommodates plant-based diets, showcasing their versatility and commitment to customer satisfaction.

However, not every dish has hit the mark according to some reviews. For example, Elijah Disher found that while the fried pickles were a hit, the catfish could use more seasoning. Yet, despite near misses, the overall experience remains positive, underscoring the genuine hospitality and pleasant atmosphere that Mikey's provides.

In summary, Mikey's Family Restaurant stands out as a quaint locale where good food and family-friendly service reign supreme. The combination of hearty meals, reasonable prices, and a warm atmosphere makes it a must-visit when in West Union. Whether you’re a local or a visitor passing through, a meal at Mikey's promises to leave you satisfied and eager to return.

Great spot for a nice family friendly spot for breakfast! Food was spot in with flavor, omelet, pancakes, taters, coffee all good!

fried pickles were delicious, catfish tasted alright but not very seasoned, the tartar sauce is a little sour in my opinion, only thing that tasted weird was the baked potato? i dont know how you make a baked potato tasted weird weird but they did. i would go back for just the fried pickles but nothing else really. amazing service though, the lady who served me was extremely friendly

Mikey's was a nice place to stop for a very inexpensive meal. Nothing fancy to pull into for a bite but the hospitality and good food is worth a thousand words. We enjoyed trying different sides with our appetizers and the food spoke to my soul as it's flavor reminded me of my grandmother's cooking and dishes I learned to cook from scratch as a kid, the gravy tasted just like my own and the corn bread was slightly sweet but not too much. The cabbage was on point! I also got an additional bowl of brown beans or pinto beans and corn bread to go back to Michigan with me! The homemade fries were so good we had additional orders. We got 3 drinks, 4 meals, 2 appetizers and 3 bowls of soup, 1 cup of beans, 2 additional sides for just $50.00. The cooks came to speak with us when they learned I was asking for pinto beans, corn bread, and fried cabbage as an appetizer. Later one of the cooks brought me a nice bowl of fresh veggie soup to try. I absolutely love Mikey's and hope to return someday. I was referred by my airbnb host who referred to Mikey's as the "Best Greasy Spoon" joint around and I must agree. Food was great and the hospitality made us feel like family from out of town.

This is a great down home good cooking family friendly best greasy dinner you will ever eat in .they also cater to us plant eaters too just let them know No meat .
